Electric Eye Door Bells

We have come a long way in technology in the last few decades, particularly when it comes to security. And in the home, the protection of the front door and other key entry points of the home is the first line of defense in the war to keep your home secure. So it makes sense to take advantage of modern surveillance technology right on your front porch by integrating an electronic eye remote camera system with your doorbell operation.

The variety and complexity of camera systems that you can use to keep an eye on your front door from the safety of your home are tremendous. While the expense of a remote access electronic eye system connected to your doorbell are higher than the conventional chimes doorbell system, the feeling that you are taking charge of that front door situation make that expense a worthwhile investment.

You can customize how your front door surveillance system works to fit how diligent you wish to be about people on your front porch or even in your front yard. A common approach is to have the camera activate when the doorbell is sounded so you can immediately check out and even interact via remote camera and intercom with the person who rang the bell. If the person you find at your door is a friend, relative or someone you trust, you can then go to the door and let them in for a visit.

However, very often people who ring our front doorbells are not friends. Salesmen or other intruders who have an agenda ring that bell thinking that the urgency of the doorbell will bring a face to face meeting. If it were only sales people we were worried about, that alone would justify the front door security set up. But many times a friendly face at the front door may be someone with a criminal intent that is not evident. Using the electronic eye camera system with an intercom, you can find out their business and if you are not interested, send them away all while you stay safely behind a locked door.

But using the doorbell as the only point of activation may be too restrictive for your security needs so you can expand the level of surveillance you make available to your family and yourself. You can put in more cameras so when you are checking out that stranger on the front door, you can also look around the front yard or even all around the property to see if that one person on the front porch may have friends nearby. This can also be a great way to watch the children as they play giving you more security over them while they enjoy their outdoor time.

Along with the activation of the doorbell, you can create a second level of security by allowing you to activate the electronic eyes and ears you have outside your home at any time from your "command center". In that way, at any time, you can do a security check of your front door or anywhere you have a camera to assure yourself that all is well. That that feeling that the property and parameters of the home have been secured gives you and your family a confidence that is worth whatever investment you made installing those extra layers of security for your home.
