Paint Interior How To
Painting a room isn’t difficult but there is a method to it that will result in a much cleaner results and that will eliminate a lot of the problems novice painters run into. Before you move a stick of furniture or plan the project, make sure you do your research on what kind of paint and what colors you are considering in light of how those décor concepts will fit in with the surfaces adjacent to the room that will not be painted. Get some expert advice for the best paint to use for the project and make a shopping list of paint, brushes, roller kits, tape, drop clothes and anything else you will need to do the job.
Being prepared is the first character trait of a good interior painter. The second and third great character traits that are just as important are patience and persistence. You need to be prepared to give the project the time it needs to apply each coat, allow it to dry and then move to the next step. But you must not procrastinate and let the project go idle once you get started. For the entire time frame of the project, the room will be disturbed so move along promptly but methodically.
Before you paint any of the surfaces, do your preparation work by sanding areas that need to be smoothed out. You will do well to get all of this work done for the entire room at once rather than sand the upper areas and then painting and then sanding the lower areas. In that way you keep the dust from mingling with areas that have been painting that may not be completely dry.
Once all is ready, lay down your drop cloths and move in segments from the ceiling downward. Paint the ceiling and the moldings around the ceiling first so that if there are any drippings, that is not going on finished surfaces. If you are painting right over your own head working on the ceiling area, be sure you take care not to drip the paint on yourself and wear goggles to protect against the eventuality of paint dripping in your eyes.
Look at each section, the ceiling, the moldings, the walls and the trim as separate projects. Plan your work so you finish one section at a time so it all has the chance to dry at the same time. In this way you can spot and correct imperfections the next day. It may take several days to work through the entire room during which time the furniture should be out of the room or covered. Btu when the job is done, you can take up your drop clothes and move the furniture back in to a beautiful room that is like new because of your well done paint job.
