Learning About Chainsaw Art

Although many people are not even aware of it, there is something known as art which is really innovative and incredibly beautiful. If you are interested in getting to know more about art there are many options that you have but the best idea is to do a bit of research so you can get an idea of what this art is all about.

Chainsaw Carving Art

The art of carving is not new, but rather has been around for ages now. To the uninitiated, discovering the beauty of art is a weird and wonderful thrill. It is truly unlike any other type of art in the world and is a craft that has been gaining in popularity in recent years.

It is very easy to get started in art, although it may seem difficult at first. The first step is to choose the right tools. You will need to choose a high quality but easy to handle chainsaw, keeping in mind that more people are injured by chainsaws than by any other powered hand tool.

The size of the and bar used depend on the strength of the carver, so the stronger you are, generally the larger sized you can use.

You then want to find a log, choosing one that is not too large and not too small either. Sandbags can be useful to keep the log from rolling around when you are getting started on the log, and a rough design can often then be marked straight onto the bark with the tip of the saw though beginners may prefer to use chalk or felt tip pen.

You can really carve out whatever you want onto the log, but obviously if you are just getting started you will want to stick to a simpler design and then as you progress and get more skilled at it you can work on more difficult and complex designs.

Remember that the treatment of the work really all depends on its final location as well as personal taste, especially if you are planning to hold on to the work of art yourself.

Chainsaw carving can be more than just productive, it can be a whole lot of fun, especially if you do it with your friends and family and make it a group thing. As long as you have all the essential tools and of course some serious patience, you should come out of it with great results.
