Different Kinds Of Organic Garden Pest Control

Organic garden pest control is highly different from pesticides and herbicides which are made of harmful chemicals. The fact that it is organic means that it does not use any hazardous chemicals that threaten people's well being and also the well being of the environment. pest control comes in many different forms.

Growing Native Plants And Encouraging Helpful Bugs

Native plants are better equipped at handling the native bugs that they have grown accustomed to fighting against. This form of pest control has been tried and proven by many farmers. Although, the hybrids and foreign plants may seem better, many of the local bugs affect their growth. Planting the native varieties makes organic cultivation easier.

If you really need to plant foreign varieties of fruits and vegetables, another pest control method you can do is to manually check the plants for pests. This enables you to check the plants for any other diseases that they may have contracted as well as checking for pests that eat them. You can also observe which areas of the garden the plants grow best or what weather. Knowing the quirks of your plants and also that of your garden can help you grow better produce.

Some native plants also band together with other native species of plants to get rid of pests. Many larger trees have smaller plants growing next to them that somehow repel pests. Some animals and insects may also feed on the harmful pests. Encouraging the growth of these helpful insects and animals is worth it. This kind of pest control is very helpful for the environment.

Keeping track of what pests you have seen in your garden as well as what helpful bugs you have currently help the way you manage your pest control methods. If you do not see any more of the helpful bugs, there are some nurseries and gardens that propagate these to help other gardeners and farmers with their pest control.

The importance of pest control doesn't need to be reiterated to farmers. This is because the impact of chemicals on our food and land is seriously destroying our world. The need for profit should not come at the cost of the place we live in. pest control is a relatively easy way of maintaining your garden and keeping the Earth clean and healthy for future generations.
